Introduction

Welcome! To help you get started, here's a brief overview of the steps involved in obtaining a work placement :

  1. On the following page, enter details about your interests and availability.
  2. Review the list of matching opportunities and click any that interest you, to read more details.
  3. Once you've settled on one you like, fill out the online application form and have your teacher submit it for you.
  4. If you are accessing the portal from home, note down the opportunity id number of the position you would like to apply for. Take this number to your teacher who will log you in so you can complete the online application form for that opportunity. Your teacher is the only one that can submit it for you.
  5. Once your application form is submitted, GRVEC will contact the employer to ensure the position is still available. (If the position is no longer available, you'll be notified so you can choose another position).
  6. GRVEC will send an email with your contact details to the employer, and an email with the employer's details to your teacher.
  7. Your teacher will advise and guide you through the process of arranging and completing the appropriate paperwork to secure this position. You and your school must contact the employer to confirm the placement promptly – if you take longer than two weeks the opportunity may be taken up by another student.
